A More Considered Way of Creating

Being part of an industry known for excess consumption and waste, we believe it's important to be thoughtful about what we create and how we bring it into the world.

At Curata Archive, we're continually looking for ways to approach fashion more intentionally. As we evolve, we're moving towards a made-to-order model for our graphic tees, where each piece is printed in Aotearoa, New Zealand, in response to customer demand.

Rather than producing large quantities in advance across multiple designs and sizes, we print our tees to order. This allows us to reduce the need for excess inventory, minimise the risk of unsold stock and continue offering the designs we love without producing more than necessary.

We believe in creating with purpose, moving at a more considered pace and building a brand that can grow without relying on excess. While we recognise that there's always more to learn and improve, we're committed to making thoughtful decisions about how we produce and operate.

Made to Order

Our graphic tees are printed especially for you once your order is placed. By producing in response to demand, we're able to take a more considered approach to stock, reduce unnecessary production and offer our collection without holding every design and size in advance.

Each made-to-order piece is printed here in Aotearoa, New Zealand. As this process takes time, please allow up to two weeks for your order to arrive.

Ready to Ship

You'll also find a selection of pieces available in limited quantities and ready to ship. We carry small amounts of stock in selected styles to offer shorter delivery times where possible.

By keeping our ready-to-ship inventory limited and focusing on pieces we know our customers love, we can reduce lead times without compromising our considered approach to production.

We believe in creating what we genuinely believe will move, responding to demand and avoiding excess wherever possible.

Slower Design

We don't believe we need to produce more simply to keep up. By moving away from traditional bulk production, we can take a more thoughtful approach to our collection, focusing on designs that resonate with our community and creating at a pace that works for us.

This allows us to continue exploring new ideas, revisiting familiar favourites and evolving the Curata Archive collection without the pressure of producing everything in advance.

A Work in Progress

We're not here to claim perfection. We recognise that fashion has an environmental impact, and that even made-to-order production comes with its own considerations.

For us, this is about making more conscious decisions wherever we can. By producing in response to demand, limiting excess stock and continually questioning how we do things, we're taking steps towards a more considered way of creating.
